Thinking Edge ("we", "us") is a WhatsApp-based service that delivers daily mental models. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is handled.

1. Data we collect

When you message us on WhatsApp, we receive and store:

• WhatsApp phone number and profile name — to identify you and send replies.
• Message content — your messages and our responses, used to maintain conversation context.
• Profile information — profession, interests, goals, and experience level, extracted from your messages to personalise content.
• Usage data — which mental models you have seen, your streak, and message counts.

2. How we use your data

• To deliver and personalise daily mental models.
• To maintain conversation context so replies are relevant.
• To track your learning progress (models seen, streak).
• To improve the service via aggregated, anonymised analytics.

3. Third-party services

We share data with these processors, solely to operate the service:

• Meta (WhatsApp Cloud API) — delivers messages between you and us. Subject to WhatsApp's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — processes your messages to generate personalised responses. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• PostHog — anonymous product analytics (event counts, feature usage). No message content is sent to PostHog.

We do not sell your data to anyone.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored in a database on a secured server. Access is restricted to the service operator. We use HTTPS for all connections and verify webhook signatures to prevent tampering.

5. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as you use the service. If you ask us to delete your data, we will remove all your stored information within 30 days.

6. Your rights

You can at any time:

• Request your data — ask us what we have stored about you.
• Request deletion — ask us to delete all your data.
• Stop the service — simply stop messaging us; we do not contact you outside the WhatsApp conversation window unless you have opted in to daily nudges.
